Redditch Felixstowe Rapist
In August 2022, a disturbing revelation emerged involving Jason Croker, a man with a troubling past linked to Felixstowe and Redditch, who has resurfaced in the public eye through social media. Croker, who was convicted of attempted rape in 2015, has been operating under a new identity on TikTok, where he presents himself as 'Jayde Palmer,' a pre-op transgender individual. This account has gained a following of approximately 10,000 followers, many of whom are unaware of Croker’s criminal history. His videos and live streams are often centered around themes of societal rejection and personal struggle, with followers frequently donating money or gifts, seemingly sympathizing with his narrative. However, the full extent of Croker’s past offenses has only recently come to light, raising serious concerns about the potential danger he still poses.

Back in March 2015, Croker, then residing in Redditch, was sentenced to nine years in prison after being found guilty of a brutal attempted rape. The incident involved a woman in her 30s, with whom Croker had a longstanding but non-romantic relationship. The assault took place after Croker lured her into a van, where he attempted to force himself upon her in a manner described as 'wicked' by prosecutors. During the attack, Croker grabbed the woman around her neck in an effort to throttle her, causing her to black out. Following the assault, he abandoned her in a field near Claverdon, on Saddlebow Lane, after she had lost consciousness.

According to court proceedings, Croker initially claimed that the woman had asked for a lift and that he had dropped her off unharmed at her request. However, these claims were proven false during the trial. Prosecutor Harpreet Sandhu detailed the events, revealing that Croker had contacted the woman via text in May 2013, falsely claiming he had returned from Spain and the UK. He then arranged to meet her under the pretense of retrieving belongings from a storage unit, but instead, they traveled to a remote country lane. There, Croker attempted to coerce her into sex using explicit language, despite her clear refusal. The prosecutor described how Croker tried to force himself on her, pinning her down and undressing himself while holding her against her will.

Despite her efforts to resist, including punching Croker three times in the head, he was too strong. He sexually assaulted her and continued to threaten her, telling her that he would force himself on her if she did not consent. The woman was physically assaulted and throttled to the point of unconsciousness. After the attack, Croker left her in the field and drove away. When she regained consciousness, she managed to reach a nearby road and flagged down a passing motorist. Emergency services were called, and she was taken to hospital for treatment.

During police interviews, Croker denied any involvement in the assault, claiming he had dropped the woman off somewhere near Stratford, uninjured. Nevertheless, the jury found him guilty of attempted rape, and he was sentenced to nine years in prison. Following his conviction, Croker was subjected to the requirements of the Sexual Offences Act, which mandated that he register as a sex offender for life. His case highlights the ongoing risks posed by individuals with violent pasts who attempt to re-enter society, especially through social media platforms where their true histories may remain hidden from the public eye.
