JASON COE FROM WARWICKSHIRE JAILED FOR REPEATEDLY ATTENDING CHILDREN'S PARTIES IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE AND BEDFORDSHIRE

A convicted sex offender from Warwickshire has been sentenced to prison after deliberately flouting a court-imposed restriction designed to protect minors.

Jason Coe, aged 48, who resides on Swan Street in Alcester, was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) issued in July 2019.

This legal order explicitly prohibited him from making contact or communicating with girls under the age of 16, a measure put in place to prevent further harm and safeguard vulnerable children.

Despite this, Coe knowingly attended multiple social gatherings where children were present, breaching the terms of his SHPO on seven separate occasions.

These incidents took place across different locations in Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, with the first recorded breach occurring at a children's birthday party in Peterborough on March 14, 2020.

Over the following years, between July 2021 and July 2023, Coe also participated in various barbeques and other social events where minors were present.

His repeated attendance at these events was only uncovered after an adult attendee at one of the gatherings discovered that Coe was a registered sex offender.

The concerned individual promptly contacted the police to report the matter, leading to an investigation that confirmed Coe's violations of the court order.

During the court proceedings at Cambridge Crown Court, Coe admitted to all seven breaches of his SHPO.

The court sentenced him to 20 months in prison on the Thursday of the hearing.

Detective Constable Claire Cummings of Cambridgeshire police emphasized the seriousness of the case, stating, "Coe was fully aware of the requirements of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order and these gatherings would represent breaches.

Court orders are put in place to protect the public and breaches are taken very seriously." Authorities continue to remind the public that if anyone suspects someone has been convicted of a sex offence, they can seek disclosure information through Sarah's Law, an external resource aimed at safeguarding communities and alerting potential victims.
