SEVEN AFGHAN MEN CHARGED WITH 40 OFFENCES CONNECTED TO GROUP-BASED CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION HAVE BEEN REMANDED IN CUSTODY
A group of seven men, all Afghan nationals and refugees, face charges related to alleged crimes committed between August 2023 and May 2025.The victims, who were in their early to mid-teens at the time, are the focus of these accusations.
These seven individuals were remanded into custody as they await a plea hearing scheduled at Norwich Crown Court on 19 June 2026.
The charges come after a coordinated police operation on 20 May, during which law enforcement officials searched seven locations—six in Norwich and one in Dumbarton, Scotland.
These raids resulted in the arrest of all seven men.
Additionally, authorities from the Garda Siochana detained an eighth suspect, a 19-year-old male, in Ireland early this morning, around 7 am.
Legal procedures are underway to facilitate his extradition back to the UK.
The Crown Prosecution Service has authorized the charges, which pertain to the period from August 2023 through May 2025.

Jamil Khalili, 20, of High Street, Dumbarton, Scotland.
He is Afghan and his self-defined ethnicity is ‘Any Other Mixed Background’.
He is charged with seven counts of rape, one count of conspiracy to rape and one count of facilitate human trafficking.
He entered the country via small boat on 23 March 2021.
His immigration status is ‘refugee’.
