JAMIE HENFREY, LEICESTER PAEDOPHILE, SENTENCED AFTER DECEIVING PREGNANT WOMAN
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community in Leicester, a pregnant woman found herself unknowingly involved with a man with a dark and troubling past.The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed to protect her privacy, met Jamie Henfrey, aged 24, through online platforms in October of the previous year.
This meeting occurred shortly after Henfrey was released from prison and returned to his residence in Glen Parva, a suburb within Leicester.
Henfrey, who previously resided in Aylestone, Leicester, has a criminal history marked by serious offenses related to child exploitation.
In May 2019, he was sentenced to 13 months in prison following a series of convictions, notably including the possession of indecent images of children.
His criminal record also reveals that in 2017, he was convicted for attempting to groom a 12-year-old girl online, a victim who was actually an undercover police officer posing as a minor.
Further compounding his criminal behavior, in April of this year, Henfrey engaged in a disturbing online exchange by sending explicit photographs and videos of himself to a police-operated Snapchat account.
The account was set up under the guise of a 12-year-old girl named Holly.
During this exchange, Henfrey not only shared explicit material but also provided detailed instructions on acts he wanted her to perform, demonstrating a depraved level of predatory intent.
Judge Sandeep Kainth, presiding over the case, described Henfrey’s actions as “depraved” and labeled his crimes as “absolutely grotesque.” It was revealed that Henfrey had lied to his girlfriend, with whom he was living in Birmingham, about the reasons for his visits to probation officers.
He claimed these visits were related to money owed to others, despite a court order explicitly requiring him to be truthful and prohibiting him from sharing a residence with any child.
During proceedings at Leicester Crown Court, Henfrey admitted to breaching his sexual harm prevention order on two separate occasions.
He also pleaded guilty to attempting to communicate sexually with a child and attempting to induce a child to watch a sexual act.
Prosecutor Jonathan Dunne emphasized that Henfrey was effectively “flying under the radar,” managing to evade detection by those tasked with safeguarding the public from such predators.
Judge Kainth condemned Henfrey’s conduct, highlighting that he had fabricated stories and lied to his partner about his criminal history.
The court ultimately sentenced him to a total of 41 months in prison, reflecting the severity of his offenses and the danger he posed to society.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing threat posed by individuals with a history of sexual offenses, especially when they attempt to conceal their past and deceive those around them.
