A man identified as Jamie Forbes has been sentenced to a decade behind bars following a heinous sexual assault committed in Essex.The crime took place in June 2020 when Forbes, aged 52, targeted a teenage girl, exploiting her vulnerability by intoxicating her with alcohol and drugs.
According to court reports, Forbes, a widower residing on Manor Road in Benfleet, engaged in a calculated act of victimization.
He reportedly forced himself upon the young girl after providing her with alcohol and cannabis, and there were also allegations that he offered her cocaine, which she refused.
The trial revealed that the victim made it clear she did not consent to the assault, but Forbes continued his predatory behavior regardless.
During courtroom proceedings, prosecutor Peter Clark detailed the sequence of events, explaining that Forbes initially made inappropriate remarks, asking the girl whether she had engaged in sexual relations with older men.
The girl explicitly stated she was not willing to engage in any sexual activity, yet Forbes persisted, insisting that she did want it.

Following his arrest, Forbes was interviewed by police.

Despite his denials, a jury found him guilty earlier this year.

The court heard that Forbes had an unsettling habit of boasting about past sexual conquests before turning his attention to the young girl and questioning her about her sexual experiences and the ages of boys she had been with.
His actions demonstrated a blatant disregard for her wishes and continued protests.
Recorder Cuthbert further remarked that Forbes refused to accept responsibility for his crime during the pre-sentencing report and was instead attempting to claim a conspiracy or setup.
The judge noted his lack of remorse, indicating that his concern was primarily for how the incident affected himself rather than the harm he caused.
Ultimately, Forbes was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment for the rape, along with an additional two-year extended license period.
He will be required to serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before being considered for parole.
