TWO MEN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING GIRLS IN MERSEYSIDE
Jamie Turner, aged 26, and Myles Bell, aged 23, were convicted of engaging in repeated sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl and also with a 16-year-old girl after supplying them with alcohol and cocaine, as outlined by Liverpool Crown Court. The police reported that the men engaged in exploitative behavior by filming the assaults and later using the footage to threaten their victims.
Turner, residing on Davidson Road in Old Swan, and Bell, from Makin Street in Walton, received sentences of 12 years imprisonment each.
Prosecutor Andrew Ford explained that Turner recorded the 16-year-old girl during sexual activity while other men were present in the room.
Both defendants were found guilty on two counts of sexual activity with a minor and two counts of inciting minors into sexual acts.
Turner also pleaded guilty to four charges of possessing indecent images of a child, which involved filming degrading videos of the 16-year-old victim.
Judge Anil Murray stated that they had used the younger girl for their own sexual gratification over a period of 15 months, treating her as a mere object for their pleasure without regard for her feelings.
During victim impact statements read aloud in court, one girl expressed feelings of being "embarrassed and humiliated," while the other described how she was exploited "in the most horrible and sickening way." Detective Chief Inspector Mark Kameen described the crimes as "despicable and exploitative." The judge ordered both men to be registered as sex offenders for life, as well as imposing indefinite restraining orders and sexual harm prevention orders.
