LEATHERHEAD MAN JAMES WILSON JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT AND ABUSE RING
A Leatherhead man, James Wilson, aged 36, from Kingston Road, was sentenced to ten years in prison after being found guilty by a jury of two counts of oral rape of a woman in her twenties in October 2014.
Wilson was involved in a five-day period of sexual abuse along with other men in Redhill.
The victim was subjected to severe abuse after Charlie Jones, a 28-year-old from Redhill, entered her home under false pretenses and subsequently invited other men to assault her, resulting in serious internal injuries.
Two other men, Joseph Noye, aged 27 from Billinghurst, and Charlie Jones, were sentenced to a total of 30 years.
Noye received a ten-year sentence for oral rape, sexual assault, and criminal damage, while Jones was sentenced to 20 years for rape, assault by penetration, sexual assault, criminal damage, and assault.
Another man, aged 22, was sentenced in December for stealing the victim’s mobile phone and tablet.
The investigation was described as complex and lengthy, with Detective Constable Ben Andreas commenting on the severity of the offences and the importance of reporting such crimes to help victims move on.
The article notes that all three men, other than Noye who pleaded guilty to criminal damage, denied the charges but were found guilty by a jury.
