August 2012 Lured with video games Paedophile James Shoulder abused young boys after luring them to his home with video games Newcastle crown court heard how the victims came to Shoulders house to play on his playstation But when he had them alone, he subjected them to sexual assaults Shoulders attacks only came to light when the mother of the youngest victim spotted a text from shoulder saying he loved him Caroline Goodwin, prosecuting said ” the victims mother became concerned about the amount of contact he was having with the defendant “He was bombarding him with texts. She read some of these texts and the message was entreating the victim to take pictures of himself and the defendant telling him he loved him” The victim said when interviewed that he had been going to Shoulders house to play on his playstation console but Shoulder had abused him sexually. When police made inquiries, two other victims came forward. They too said they had been to Shoulders house to play playstation games but he had also engaged them into sexual acts. Shoulder, 23 of Gosforth, Newcastle admitted various accounts of sexual activity with children and inciting children into sexual activity. Jailing Shoulder for six years, Judge Paul Sloan said “you clearly knew what you were doing was wholly and utterly wrong” He also ordered Shoulder not live with children or have unsupervised access with children for the next 10 years, with the addition of a sex offenders register order
