MAN 'DOWNLOADED CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AT LIBRARY' SENTENCED AFTER GUILTY PLEA
A man was apprehended for using a public library computer to download child pornography from the internet, according to court reports.
James Peck, aged 23 and formerly residing on Dr Hope Road in Cranbrook, was detained outside Tunbridge Wells Library with floppy disks containing the illegal material.
On Wednesday, at Maidstone Crown Court, Peck admitted to 10 charges of creating indecent images of children and 10 charges of possessing such images.
In April of the previous year, authorities seized his computer and discovered 340 inappropriate images.
Later, in September, while on bail, Peck was seen using a computer at Tunbridge Wells Library to view some of those images.
He was released on a three-year community rehabilitation order after a judge learned he had already served nine months in custody on remand.
The judge, Mr.
McKinnon, ordered the order with a requirement that Peck participate in a sex offender treatment program.
