In February 2006, a wave of outrage swept through the community of Canvey Island, Essex, after it emerged that a primary school teacher, James Neve, had been involved in a disturbing child pornography case. The revelation came after Neve, aged 48 and residing in Kent, was arrested in August 2004 for downloading illicit images onto his computer.
