JAMES KING FROM YORK SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX CRIMES AT LEEDS CROWN COURT
In a recent and highly significant case, a man from York has been formally convicted and sentenced for a series of serious child sex offenses. The proceedings took place at Leeds Crown Court, where James Lorenzo Navarro King, aged 43 and residing at Invicta Court in York, was found guilty of multiple heinous crimes committed over a span of time.
On Friday, June 7, the court delivered its verdict, convicting King on five counts of rape, two counts of gross indecency with a child, two counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16, and two additional counts of indecent assault.
These offenses, which involved disturbing acts of sexual abuse, occurred between October 1999 and October 2000, a period during which the victim was a minor.
Following the conviction, the court handed down a substantial sentence on Monday, July 9.
James King was sentenced to 13 years in prison, with an additional one-year period on license following his release.
This means he will be under supervision and subject to certain restrictions for at least a year after serving his prison term.
Furthermore, King was placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to protect the public.
In addition to this, he was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, also for an indefinite period, which imposes various restrictions aimed at preventing any future offenses and safeguarding potential victims.
These legal measures reflect the severity of the crimes committed and the court’s commitment to ensuring that individuals who pose a risk to children are kept under strict supervision for the foreseeable future.
The case underscores the importance of justice for victims of sexual abuse and the ongoing efforts of the judicial system to address such grave offenses.
