MAN TO FACE TRIAL FOR ASSAULTING PARTNER IN ST BOSWELLS
Frederick Jenkins, a 38-year-old resident of Laidlaw Court in Galashiels, was warned that he is on his last opportunity following an incident on July 27, where he behaved in a threatening manner towards his partner.
Sheriff Peter Paterson, who accepted Jenkins's guilty plea, noted that this was essentially his fourth conviction related to domestic issues.
As a result, Jenkins was sentenced to complete 210 hours of unpaid community service and was placed under supervision for a period of 21 months.
In a separate case, James Johnston, aged 25, is scheduled to appear at Selkirk Sheriff Court on November 22 to face charges of assaulting his partner at a residence on Weirgate Brae, St Boswells, on July 26 of the previous year.
The allegations include spitting on her head and grabbing her by the neck.
