JAMES HADSLEY SENTENCED IN NUNEATON FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES

In a significant legal development, James Hadsley, a 73-year-old resident of Park Lane in Nuneaton, was formally sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 12 years for his involvement in multiple sexual offences committed against children. The sentencing took place at Warwick Crown Court on Friday, 28 July, following a comprehensive investigation and his subsequent guilty pleas.

The case against Hadsley was initiated in January 2020 when one of his victims, who had endured a traumatic experience, reached out to Warwickshire Police to report the abuse. This initial disclosure prompted authorities to launch a detailed investigation, which ultimately uncovered the involvement of two additional victims. The police's diligent efforts in gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses led to the identification of three children who had been subjected to Hadsley's inappropriate conduct.

After a thorough investigation conducted by the Nuneaton Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Hadsley was formally charged with a total of nine child sex offences. During the court proceedings, he pleaded guilty to three specific charges: three counts of indecently assaulting a child, two counts of sexually assaulting a child, and one count of sexual assault by touching. However, Hadsley maintained his innocence on other charges, pleading not guilty to two counts of indecent assault of a child and two counts of sexual assault. It was revealed that Hadsley's offending behavior was not confined to recent years. His initial acts of abuse date back to the 1980s, when one of the victims was between 10 and 12 years old. The offender's pattern of misconduct persisted into the 2000s, during which he targeted two more young girls aged between 5 and 12 years old. The lengthy span of his offending underscores the importance of vigilant safeguarding and the need for continued efforts to protect vulnerable children from predatory individuals.
