SEX OFFENDER JAMES GEORGE JAILED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT
A convicted sex offender who sexually assaulted a girl under the age of 13 has been sentenced.
James George, aged 36, was taken into custody after the victim disclosed the abuse to her mother.
The victim reported that George had assaulted her on multiple occasions.
During police interviews, George denied the allegations but was found guilty by a jury of two sexual assaults involving penetration on a child under 13, as well as two other sexual assaults on a girl under 13.
The court was informed that the abuse was reported after the victim contacted her mother via message, leading police to arrest George at his residence.
At Truro Crown Court, His Honour Judge Simon Carr sentenced George to 12 years in prison on Tuesday, June 12.
Additionally, George is required to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
