ROTHWELL MAN PUT ON SEX OFFENDER REGISTER AFTER BEING FOUND GUILTY OVER SICK IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A man from Rothwell has been added to the sex offender register following an investigation by police into disturbing images of children.
James Bugg was convicted last month of three counts of creating indecent images of children, which includes acts such as viewing or downloading these images.
His conviction stemmed from a trial that occurred in the previous month.
The 41-year-old was found responsible for possessing five Category A images, 14 Category B images, and 270 Category C images.
These offences took place in 2019, with Category A images representing the most horrifying forms of abuse.
Although Bugg denied the charges, he was found guilty by a jury at Northampton Crown Court.
On Monday, Bugg, of Nunnery Avenue, appeared again at the same court where he was sentenced to a 12-month community order, which includes 30 days of rehabilitation activities.
He will be listed on the sex offender register for five years and is also under a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
