SHOCKING ABUSE BY ROBERT BROWN IN FIFE: TWO GIRLS VICTIMIZED IN LOCHGELLY AND BALLINGRY
Robert Brown, aged 63, has been found guilty of a series of disturbing sexual offences committed against two young girls in the Fife area, specifically in the towns of Lochgelly and Ballingry.The allegations span several years, beginning when the victims were just children, and involve a pattern of predatory behavior that has now been brought to justice.
Brown initially appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, where he was scheduled for a trial before he unexpectedly entered guilty pleas to all charges.
The court proceedings revealed the extent of his misconduct, which included multiple instances of lewd, indecent, and libidinous acts committed against the girls at various addresses in the Fife towns.
According to court records, Brown admitted to abusing one girl, who was only seven years old when the abuse started, between December 2000 and December 2004.
The offences took place at three different locations in Ballingry and Lochgelly.
The court heard that Brown would often go into the bathroom while the girl was showering, and on one occasion, he induced her to touch her own private parts before touching her himself.
His actions included repeatedly touching and striking her on the buttocks, placing his hands inside her clothing, touching and squeezing her naked body and breasts, and rubbing her private parts.
Further disturbing details emerged when Brown admitted to a series of similar offences against the same girl between December 2004 and December 2005 at two addresses in Lochgelly.

The court also heard that Brown sexually abused a second girl, beginning when she was just seven years old, with incidents occurring between January 2001 and January 2006 at locations in Ballingry and Lochgelly.
His abuse of this second victim included placing his hands inside her clothing, touching her body and breasts, and watching her while she was showering.
Depute fiscal Alex Piper provided details to the court, explaining that Brown was often left alone to babysit the girls, which facilitated his predatory behavior.
The abuse started with him standing behind the first girl and placing his hands inside her clothing.
On one particularly disturbing occasion, when she was around 10 or 11, Brown entered the bathroom while she was showering, pulled back the shower curtain, and instructed her to touch herself, before touching her himself.
Court records also state that Brown would give the girl money after these acts, often placing it in her bra or trousers pockets.
The abuse continued until the girl was 13, at which point she began avoiding him by leaving the house whenever he appeared.
The misconduct was eventually uncovered when the first girl confided in her partner about what had happened.
This disclosure prompted police involvement, leading to further investigations and the questioning of the second girl, who had also been subjected to similar abuse from Brown from the age of seven until she was 12, when she too started to avoid him.
In sentencing, Sheriff Craig McSherry imposed a custodial term of four years on Brown.
Additionally, he was given an extended sentence of 12 months to be served after his release into the community, reflecting the severity of his crimes.
Brown was also placed on the sex offenders' register for a period of ten years, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities post-release.
The case has sent shockwaves through the local community in Fife, highlighting the importance of vigilance and safeguarding vulnerable children from predators like Robert Brown.
