JAKUB BONDALSKI SENTENCED IN NEWCASTLE FOR SEX OFFENCES
Police have commended the bravery of two victims after Jakub Bondalski was sentenced for his sexual offences.Bondalski was convicted of multiple sex crimes following the victims' disclosures.
The first victim reported being raped by him in late 2019, prompting an investigation.
During this process, another woman came forward, revealing she had been subjected to multiple rapes by Bondalski and identifying him as her attacker.
The 20-year-old denies all allegations but was charged with several sexual offences.
He participated in a trial at Newcastle Crown Court in November last year, where a jury found him guilty of five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
On January 18, he received a nine-year prison sentence at the same court.
Lead investigators, Detective Constables Nick Heywood and Laura O’Neil, praised the victims' courage for speaking out.
Detective Constable Heywood stated, "Jakub Bondalski is a vile predator, and it is thanks to the immense bravery of the victims that he is now behind bars.
He has shown no remorse throughout this case." He added, "I hope this provides a sense of justice for the victims and encourages others who have been subjected to such offences to come forward.
I would urge anyone affected to report it to police—it's never too late.
We will listen, support, and are committed to bringing offenders to justice." Bondalski will also be required to sign the Sex Offenders' Register indefinitely.
