JAHRAD ALDERTON-FORD SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN SANDWICH AREA

A man named Jahrad Alderton-Ford has been handed a significant prison sentence after being found guilty of sexually assaulting two young girls in the village of Ash, located near Sandwich. The incident came to light in 2022 when Kent Police received a report detailing the disturbing offenses committed at a residential property within the village.

Following the report, authorities acted swiftly. On the very same day that the allegations were made, officers arrested Jahrad Alderton-Ford, who resides on Cop Street. An extensive investigation ensued, involving interviews, evidence collection, and forensic analysis, all aimed at establishing the facts surrounding the allegations.

Jahrad Alderton-Ford, now aged 43, was formally charged with two counts of sexual assault. Throughout the legal process, he maintained his innocence, denying the charges brought against him. This denial led to a trial at Canterbury Crown Court, where the evidence was scrutinized and the case was presented before a jury.

In October 2024, after hearing the evidence and deliberations, the jury found Alderton-Ford guilty of the charges. Subsequently, he was sentenced on February 7, 2025, at the same court. The judge handed down a prison term of seven years for his crimes. Additionally, Alderton-Ford was ordered to serve an extra year on license following his release, ensuring continued supervision and monitoring.

To further protect the community and prevent any potential reoffending, Alderton-Ford will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. This order will remain in effect until further notice, imposing restrictions and conditions designed to mitigate risks associated with his release.

Detective Constable Emma Garcia, the officer leading the investigation for Kent Police, expressed her thoughts on the case. She stated, 'These were awful offences against young victims, and I am pleased Alderton-Ford has been brought to justice for his actions.' She emphasized the importance of honesty in the courtroom, noting, 'By refusing to admit what he had done, he forced his victims and their family to go through a trial, and I am pleased the jury saw through his denials.'

Detective Garcia also praised the bravery of the victims, encouraging others who have experienced similar crimes to come forward. She concluded by urging anyone affected by sexual offences to report their experiences to the police, so that offenders can be held accountable and justice can be served.
