JACOB YARROW FROM LAKENHEATH SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGES AND DRUGS

In a case that has drawn significant attention in the local community of Lakenheath, 39-year-old Jacob Yarrow faced justice at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday, February 2.

Yarrow, residing on Briscoe Way in Lakenheath, was handed a ten-month jail sentence, which was suspended for two years, after he pleaded guilty to multiple serious charges.

The charges included three counts of making indecent images of children, four counts of possessing a prohibited weapon or firearm, and possession of a controlled drug classified as Class B cannabis.

The case was initiated following a police operation that involved executing a search warrant at Yarrow’s residence on January 25, 2017, based on intelligence reports received by local authorities.

During the search, law enforcement officers uncovered a substantial collection of electronic devices, including laptops, tablets, external hard drives, memory sticks, gaming consoles, and mobile phones.

In addition to the digital evidence, the police discovered a significant quantity of illegal substances—over 500 grams of skunk cannabis, which is classified as Class B, along with an additional 47 grams of herbal cannabis.

The officers also seized four incapacitate sprays capable of discharging noxious substances, all of which are regulated under the Firearms Act 1968.

Further forensic analysis by specialists from Suffolk’s online investigation team revealed disturbing evidence stored on the electronic devices.

The investigation uncovered a total of 64 Category A indecent images, 50 Category B images, and 100 Category C images depicting child exploitation.

These findings highlight the severity of the offender’s actions and the potential harm caused.

Regarding the illegal drugs, a police drugs expert estimated the total value of the cannabis seized to be between £3,500 and £4,170, indicating a significant level of possession intended for distribution or sale.

The forensic laboratory confirmed that all four incapacitate sprays were capable of discharging a harmful substance, making them illegal under the Firearms Act.

In addition to the jail sentence, Yarrow was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order that will remain in effect for ten years, aiming to prevent any future offenses related to sexual misconduct.

He was also ordered to attend a rehabilitation program spanning 20 days, emphasizing the court’s focus on addressing underlying issues.

Furthermore, Yarrow was required to pay £260 in court costs as part of his sentencing.

Overall, the case underscores the serious nature of the crimes committed by Jacob Yarrow and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat illegal activities involving child exploitation and illegal substances within the community of Lakenheath.
