LUTON MAN JACOB FRECKLETON, THE DANGEROUS PAEDOPHILE, SENTENCED FOR ONLINE CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN LUTON
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Luton, Jacob Freckleton, a 28-year-old man from the town, has been sentenced to nine years in prison after admitting to a series of serious online child sex offences. The sentencing took place at Luton Crown Court, where Freckleton pleaded guilty to a total of 15 charges, including the production of indecent images of a child and inciting a girl under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activities.
Freckleton, who resides in Rushall Green, exploited the anonymity of the internet to establish contact with vulnerable young girls.
He used social media platforms and live streaming services to reach out to minors, befriending them under false pretenses.
Once he gained their trust, he persuaded these young girls to participate in sexual acts, which he then recorded on his mobile phone and laptop.
His actions not only betrayed the innocence of these children but also posed a significant threat to their safety and well-being.
The gravity of Freckleton’s crimes was brought to light when a mother, concerned about her daughter’s online activity, checked her child's phone and discovered shocking images and messages linked to Freckleton.
This discovery prompted an investigation that ultimately uncovered the extent of his offending.
Two mothers, whose children had been exploited by Freckleton, wrote heartfelt letters to the court prior to his sentencing, describing the profound impact his actions had on their families.
One mother expressed her anguish, stating, “He has taken away our daughter’s innocence.” She detailed her fears about how easily predators can manipulate children online and the dangers lurking in the digital world.
She further explained the emotional toll on her daughter, noting that since the incident, her child's behavior had changed dramatically.
The girl was increasingly withdrawn, attempting to isolate herself, and her school performance had suffered.
The mother emphasized the courage her daughter showed in attending police interviews and the ongoing emotional scars left by the ordeal.
Another mother shared her horror at discovering the images of her daughter on Freckleton’s devices, expressing her fears that these images might have been shared further.
She described feeling physically sick at the thought of her child's private moments being exploited for others’ sexual gratification.
Freckleton’s criminal history in relation to online child sex offences was initially uncovered in November 2017, when he pleaded guilty to eight counts of similar crimes.
His activities involved using social media and live streaming platforms to contact and manipulate underage girls, persuading them to engage in sexual acts, which he recorded for his own gratification.
The case was further developed in January 2018, when Freckleton, a Network Rail engineer by profession, was convicted at Luton Crown Court of an additional seven charges.
These included causing and inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, as well as making indecent images of children.
The police investigation was triggered when a mother discovered indecent images and messages on her daughter’s phone, linking Freckleton to the offences.
Following his guilty pleas, Freckleton was remanded in custody and is scheduled for sentencing in March.
The case highlights the ongoing dangers posed by online predators and the importance of vigilance among parents and guardians to protect children from exploitation in the digital age.
