TEENAGER DISOWNED BY FAMILY AFTER BEING CAUGHT WITH INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A TEENAGER has been disowned by his family after he was caught in possession of indecent images of children.
Police raided the family home of Jack Skeldon in Dunbar with a search warrant after receiving intelligence that sexual abuse images had been accessed at the property.
Skeldon, 19, was arrested and charged after electronic devices belonging to him were found to contain a collection of pictures of children being sexually abused.
An investigation also discovered that Skeldon had distributed a naked image of a young boy to another person he had been in contact with on the internet.
Edinburgh Sheriff Court was told that Skeldon had been in custody since his arrest on May 20 last year due to him not having an address to stay at after his family had disowned him.
Skeldon appeared from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday, where he pleaded guilty to two offences.
Sheriff Charles Walls continued the offender’s remand and deferred sentence for reports to be prepared to later this month.
Skeldon was officially placed on the sex offenders' register on an interim basis.
He admitted a charge of taking, or allowing to be taken, indecent images of children at an address in Dunbar between February 28, 2024, and May 20 last year.
He also pleaded guilty to distributing an indecent image of children at the same address on May 17 last year.
