MAN IN COURT FOR ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT ON NORFOLK BUS
A man has appeared before a court charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl he met while waiting at a bus stop.During the hearing at Norwich Magistrates’ Court, it was alleged that after they boarded a public bus, he repeatedly attempted to kiss her while seated at the back of the vehicle.
It was also claimed he then proceeded to rub her thighs despite being asked to stop.
The defendant, McTavish, who lives on the Street in Mendham near Harleston, did not enter a plea regarding the charge of sexual assault through intentional touching.
The court was told he admitted to kissing the girl but denied any other improper conduct.
He is scheduled to appear at Norwich Crown Court on July 10 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
Prosecutor Jessica Neequaye stated that the girl told her father she was assaulted on the bus upon returning home.
Investigators requested CCTV footage from the bus company, leading to his arrest over the incident that occurred in Brooke on January 5.
