JACK HUTCHINSON CAITHNESS SCARFSKERRY: HORRIFIC CHILD PORN CASE REVEALED

A 19-year-old man named Jack Hutchinson has admitted to possessing an extensive and disturbing collection of indecent images and videos depicting children as young as four years old. The investigation revealed that Hutchinson had accumulated a total of 1,644 such illicit files over a period of just over three years, beginning in March 2021. The material included graphic footage of young males and females engaging in sexual acts with other children, as well as with adult females and males. Some videos even showed young females exposing themselves, adding to the severity of the crimes.

Hutchinson, who was only 15 years old when he started collecting this material, was caught following a police operation conducted by the National Child Abuse Team. The authorities discovered that he had uploaded a video depicting child sexual abuse, which led to further investigation. On June 7, 2024, police officers searched his residence in Scarfskerry, a village in Caithness, and subsequently arrested him on June 11. He was taken into custody at Wick Police Station, where he cooperated with investigators by providing passwords for his iPhones, which contained a vast amount of illicit material.

During the court proceedings, Hutchinson pleaded guilty to charges under the Civic Government (Scotland) Act, 1982. The case was scheduled for sentencing on April 16, 2025, with Sheriff Neil Wilson set to hear mitigation statements from Hutchinson’s solicitor. In the meantime, Hutchinson was ordered to register on the sex offenders' register for a period of three years. The police found that Hutchinson’s devices contained 472 images classified as Category A, 528 as Category B, and 644 as Category C. Additionally, his second phone held four Category B images and three Category C images. Some of the images depicted infants who appeared to be only a few months old, while the majority featured young females in various stages of undress, highlighting the disturbing nature of the material.

On May 14, 2025, during the court hearing, Hutchinson was sentenced to 300 hours of community service, which he is required to complete within three years. He was also mandated to register as a sex offender for three years and to attend rehabilitation programs in Wick, Caithness, as part of his ongoing punishment and efforts for rehabilitation. The case has shocked the local community in Caithness and Scarfskerry, raising serious concerns about child safety and the importance of vigilant law enforcement in tackling such heinous crimes.
