Meopham Child Sexual Abuser
A young man from Meopham, Jack Davey, has been sentenced to prison after a series of disturbing crimes involving the exploitation and abuse of underage girls. The 21-year-old was found guilty of multiple offences related to online grooming, sexual exploitation, and possession of indecent images of children, culminating in a lengthy jail term handed down at Maidstone Crown Court.

Davey’s criminal activities came to light following a police investigation that uncovered his manipulative online behavior. He had engaged in grooming young girls through various social media platforms, convincing them to send him explicit images and videos. In some cases, he persuaded the victims to perform sexual acts during video calls, which he secretly recorded without their knowledge or consent.

His actions were further compounded by his deception about his age. At the time of his initial contact with a 13-year-old girl, Davey was only 17 but falsely claimed to be younger to facilitate the grooming process. He met the girl in person after establishing an online relationship, which led to him sexually abusing her. This incident was part of a broader pattern of predatory behavior that extended across multiple victims.

On Friday, May 9, 2025, Davey appeared before Maidstone Crown Court to face justice. He pleaded guilty to over 30 separate charges, including inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, meeting a child following grooming, possessing indecent images of children, and making threats to disclose private sexual images with the intent to cause distress. The court sentenced him to three years and four months in prison. Under the terms of his sentence, he is required to serve at least two-thirds of his term before being eligible for parole. Additionally, he will spend two more years on licence under an extended sentence, ensuring close supervision upon his release.

Furthermore, Davey was subjected to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which restricts his activities and contact with minors. He will also remain on the sex offender register for life, a measure designed to monitor and prevent further offending.

His arrest was carried out by Kent Police officers at his residence on Harvel Road in May 2022. The police acted after being alerted to his grooming of a 13-year-old girl he had met online. At the time, Davey was 17 but had lied about his age to facilitate the sexual communication and arrange a meeting. After his arrest, which occurred when he was 18, authorities discovered that he had engaged in similar indecent contact with two other girls from different parts of Kent.

Investigations revealed that Davey had been actively messaging numerous girls across various platforms, not only within Kent but also across the country. He had stored sexually explicit images and videos of these victims on his devices, further evidencing the extent of his predatory behavior.

His criminal record also includes offences committed between November 2023 and January 2024, during which he groomed a 14-year-old girl. He was also found to have breached a previous Sexual Harm Prevention Order multiple times, indicating ongoing violations of court-imposed restrictions.

Detective Constable Mel Ling and Detective Constable Hayley Hudson-Gool of Kent Police led the investigation that ultimately brought Davey to justice. Their diligent work was instrumental in ensuring that he faced the consequences of his actions and that measures are now in place to protect potential future victims.
