GWYNEDD MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULTING EX-PARTNER AND CAUSING HEAD INJURY
A 25-year-old man from Derwen Deg, Ganllwyd, in Gwynedd, named Iwan Lloyd, has received a two-year prison sentence after admitting to assaulting his former partner. The assault took place on July 5, during which Lloyd argued with her before grabbing her by the throat and forcing her against the floor multiple times.
During the confrontation, he also threw bottles of beer inside the house, breaking several items and causing damage.
His partner later needed hospital treatment for a head injury caused during the attack.
Lloyd appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court, sitting at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court, and pleaded guilty to the assault.
Besides the prison sentence, he was granted a ten-year restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim.
Detective Constable Dominique Swift from North Wales Police commented, “Violence of any kind will not be tolerated, and we will act on any reports of domestic abuse.
I am thinking of the victim who had the courage to come forward after this frightening incident.
I hope she can move forward knowing he is legally barred from contacting her.”
