IVO DOMINGOS SHOCKS EXETER WITH CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE REVELATION

In December 2016, a disturbing case of child abuse came to light in Exeter, leading to the imprisonment of Ivo Domingos, a man with a troubling history of misconduct involving a young girl.

The case was brought to public attention after a vigilant mother uncovered a revealing message on her daughter’s Facebook account, which exposed the abuse that the girl had endured.

According to court reports, Ivo Domingos, who was born in Portugal and previously resided on Old Tiverton Road in Exeter, had visited the victim’s home on multiple occasions when she was between the ages of nine and eleven.

During these visits, he engaged in inappropriate and abusive behavior.

One particularly distressing incident involved Domingos molesting the girl while she was sitting on her bed.

During this assault, he told her, “let’s dance,” a phrase that has since become a haunting reminder of the abuse.

The young girl, feeling unable to confide in her mother at the time, chose instead to confide in a friend through Facebook messages.

The truth about her ordeal was only uncovered when her laptop unexpectedly ran out of battery during a private chat session.

Her mother, upon recharging the device, was shocked to see the message still displayed on the screen, revealing the extent of her daughter’s suffering.

This discovery prompted an investigation that ultimately led to Domingos’s arrest and prosecution.

At Exeter Crown Court, the prosecution, led by Mr.

Sean Brunton, detailed the heinous nature of the offenses.

It was revealed that the abuse began when the girl was just nine years old.

Domingos had used manipulative tactics, including pretending to give her massages, to gain her trust before committing further acts of sexual assault.

These acts included him placing her hand inside her clothing to touch her private parts and breasts, as well as other inappropriate contact.

One particularly disturbing incident involved Domingos sitting on a bed with the girl and again uttering the phrase “let’s dance,” which was a clear indication of his predatory behavior.

Domingos, who was 40 years old at the time of sentencing, admitted to three counts of sexual assault on a child.

His legal team attempted to justify his actions by suggesting he was struggling with issues such as alcohol, drugs, and depression at the time.

However, Judge Graham Cottle was unequivocal in his condemnation, sentencing Domingos to three years and six months in prison.

The judge emphasized that such behavior is utterly unacceptable and deeply abhorrent to all right-thinking individuals.

He also acknowledged the remorse expressed by Domingos, but made it clear that his actions had caused irreparable harm to the young victim.

In conclusion, this case highlights the importance of vigilance and the devastating impact of child abuse.

The community in Exeter can now be assured that justice has been served, and that offenders like Ivo Domingos will face the consequences of their actions.
