ISHMAEL DUNCAN AND HIS SHOCKING CHILD SEX ABUSE IN LONDON
A man named Ishmael Duncan, aged 24, has been exposed as a predatory paedophile who used social media to manipulate and blackmail young girls into sending explicit images and videos of themselves.Duncan operated primarily through Snapchat, targeting victims not only across the United Kingdom but also extending his reach to the United States, Canada, and Australia.
His tactics involved posing as a model agency scout, convincing vulnerable children that they had a chance to become models for high-profile fashion brands.
The court proceedings at Inner London Crown Court revealed that Duncan had admitted to committing approximately 50 offences related to child sex abuse and blackmail, involving 28 female victims.
However, authorities believe that the true extent of his contact with children could be much larger, with estimates suggesting he may have reached out to nearly 10,000 children through various Snapchat accounts he created under different aliases.
Duncan’s method of grooming involved building trust with his victims by fabricating a professional interview process.
He would send forged contracts featuring the logos of well-known fashion brands, creating an illusion of legitimacy.
Once he gained their confidence, he would then ask the girls for topless photographs, claiming it was necessary to assess their suitability for modelling.
He would threaten the victims with being blacklisted from the modelling industry if they refused to comply.
The predator employed multiple personas across different accounts, including pretending to be a photographer named 'Callum' or the general manager of the agency’s preteen models division, 'Mark.' After establishing contact, Duncan would create additional accounts to threaten the same victims with the distribution of their images on social media unless they sent more explicit content.
He sent threatening messages warning victims that he had their nude images and would share them unless they responded with the phrase ‘I understand’ or took other actions like blocking or unfriending his accounts.
In some instances, Duncan posed as a teenage boy on Snapchat, directly requesting sexual images and videos.
His malicious tactics extended to blackmail, as he coerced a 14-year-old girl with learning difficulties into sending him images.
He even offered her $1,000 (approximately £804) to engage in a sexual act with her brother, demonstrating the extent of his exploitation.
Duncan’s arrest came in July 2021 when officers from the National Crime Agency (NCA) executed a search at his residence in London.
During the raid, they discovered a staggering 19,120 images of child abuse on his computer and phone, some of which were classified as among the most severe and explicit types of material.
Martin Ludlow, the operations manager at the NCA, described Duncan’s actions as cruel and calculated.
He stated, “Ishmael Duncan cruelly preyed on young girls who had dreams of becoming models.
The threatening messages he sent were chilling and showed his callous disregard for the victims he exploited for his own sexual gratification in this case.” Duncan is scheduled to face sentencing at Inner London Crown Court on December 1, where he will be held accountable for his heinous crimes against vulnerable children and young teenagers.
