IDRID MCKIE JARROW PAEDOPHILE SENTENCED OVER 7,000 CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN NEWCASTLE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Jarrow, Idrid McKie, a 59-year-old man residing on Hylton Road, was sentenced to prison for his involvement in possessing and distributing a vast collection of child abuse images. The authorities uncovered that McKie had amassed an appalling archive comprising more than 7,000 illicit photographs and videos, some of which were classified by the courts as among the most severe of their kind.

McKie’s criminal activities extended beyond mere possession. He actively facilitated access to his illegal collection by providing a special password to fellow offenders in online chatrooms, enabling them to view and potentially share these heinous materials. This act of distribution and sharing further compounded his culpability in the eyes of the law.

The case was brought before Newcastle Crown Court, where McKie appeared to face the charges. He pleaded guilty to a total of 14 counts, including 10 charges of making indecent photographs of a child, three charges of possessing such images, and one charge related to the distribution of these illicit materials. The evidence against him was substantial, with investigators discovering a staggering 6,976 images and 391 movies stored on his computers.
