A woman was awakened to find a man in her bed sexually assaulting her in a terrifying incident. Ian Wynne Williams, aged 49, was found guilty of a sexual assault and trespassing with the intent to commit a sex offence. The incident occurred in December 2022 when the woman was suddenly awoken to someone cuddling her from behind. She screamed, which alerted her son, who then forced Williams out of the house. Williams, of Mount Road, Llanfairfechan, was subsequently jailed for 10 years and was issued an indefinite restraining order not to contact the victim. The court proceedings took place at Caernarfon Crown Court on July 8. Detective Constable Jennifer Williams described the incident as a total violation of her safety with a lasting impact, emphasizing the victim's bravery and urging others to come forward if they experience sexual assault.
