SOLDIER IAN LOWE JAILED FOR MURDER OF EX LEANNE MCNUFF
Ian Lowe, a soldier aged 25, was found guilty of the murder of his former partner Leanne McNuff, who was 24, in her home in Droylsden, Greater Manchester during March.
Described as an "evil and dangerous" person, Lowe carried out a violent and frenzied assault, causing ten separate injuries in just half a minute.
He forced his way into her residence by breaking down the door and then proceeded upstairs, where he stabbed McNuff with a knife and stomped on her face even as their four-year-old son was present in the house.
The incident was condemned as wicked by Mr.
Justice MacDuff, noting the brutality and targeted nature of Lowe’s attack while the victim was vulnerable on the floor.
Following the conviction at Manchester Crown Court, Lowe was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 28 years before he's eligible for parole.
The judge pointed out that the jury did not accept Lowe’s explanation and believed he acted out of revenge because McNuff intended to move away with their child.
The court described the incident as sickening and the act as particularly heinous and egregiously wicked.
