WALL HEATH MAN WHO MADE INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN SENTENCING DELAYED
A MAN who pleaded guilty to making over 48,000 indecent images of children over a seven year period will not be sentenced until the new year.Ian Lavender appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court facing five charges, which include three counts of making indecent photographs/pseudo-photographs of a child, one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child and one count of possessing extreme pornographic images involving an animal.
The 58-year-old indicated guilty pleas at the end of October (October 30) in relation to all counts, admitting to having made tens of thousands of indecent images involving children.
The charges state that between May 24, 2017, and November 16, 2024, Lavender made 2,899 category A indecent images of children, 1,828 category B images and 44,063 category C images – a total of 48,790 still and moving images.
In addition to these images, on November 15, 2024, the charges state he was found to be in possession of 13 prohibited images of children and 35 “extreme” pornographic images which involved animals.
The case has been sent to Wolverhampton Crown Court, where Lavender was initially due to be committed for sentencing on November 27.
However, the sentencing hearing has been pushed back, with Lavender now set to be sentenced for his crimes on January 7, 2026.
Lavender, of Beachwood Avenue, Wall Heath, was granted conditional bail until his next hearing.
