IAN GINN SHOCKS BELFAST WITH HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE REVELATIONS AND SENTENCE
In a deeply disturbing case that has shaken the community of Belfast, Ian Ginn, a man previously known as a prison warden, has been convicted of a series of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of his own daughter.The revelations came to light after years of suffering endured by Lisa Ginn, now 31, who bravely chose to waive her right to anonymity to expose her father’s horrific actions.
Ginn, aged 56 and residing on Cheviot Avenue in Belfast, pleaded guilty to multiple charges at Belfast Crown Court this week.
The charges included child cruelty, gross indecency with a child, incitement to commit an act of gross indecency, and indecent assault.
The abuse reportedly began in 1986 when Lisa was just seven years old, marking a long and traumatic period of her life.
Following his guilty plea, Ginn was sentenced to a total of 14 years in prison.
In addition to his incarceration, he has been ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life.
The court also imposed strict conditions upon his release, including a ban on associating with children under the age of 18 and restrictions on engaging in any paid or voluntary employment without prior approval from a probation risk manager.
It is understood that Ginn is currently held at Maghaberry prison, where he is reportedly on suicide watch.
Furthermore, a charge of rape remains on the books, indicating the severity and gravity of the allegations against him.

“I just hope my story will help put scum like that away and protect other children,” Lisa stated.
She also shared her ongoing emotional struggles, saying, “People say to me I must be pleased by the sentence and that it is now over, but it is not over.
I still have to live with what happened every day.
When I can sleep, I still have nightmares about him.
At the minute I feel as if someone has died or something, but I will get better.
I will move on one day.
I am determined to.” During the court proceedings, Lisa recounted the moment she saw her father, Ian Ginn, being led away in handcuffs.
She described the conflicting emotions she experienced, including feelings of hatred and a strange sense of sympathy.
Ginn, who blew kisses to his other children before turning to stare coldly at Lisa, was described as standing and staring at her for about a minute, during which she felt an overwhelming surge of pure hatred.
She emphasized that her father has no understanding of the pain he caused her.
Lisa detailed the beginning of the abuse, recounting how her father made her stand naked after she contracted chickenpox, checking and touching her inappropriately.
She revealed that the abuse continued almost nightly for over a decade, with her wearing multiple layers of tights at night to try to prevent her father from assaulting her.
She also described being made to watch pornographic films and being subjected to various forms of sexual violence.
Her account further revealed that by the age of 13, the abuse had intensified.
She confided in a school friend, which led to her being taken to a family centre.
There, her brother told her that her father was attempting to kill himself because of her accusations.
Despite her initial reluctance, Lisa was questioned by police and social workers, but she struggled to find the courage to disclose the full extent of her suffering at that time.
She later expressed regret for not reporting her father sooner, believing it would have spared her much pain.
Lisa admitted to attempting suicide multiple times due to the emotional toll of her experiences.
It was only two years prior to her speaking out publicly that she decided to report her father, motivated by her own daughter turning seven.
She described her father as manipulative, having convinced her family that she was lying, which left her feeling isolated and unsupported.
She expressed her love for her mother, who is currently very ill, and her sadness over the missed opportunity to have an open conversation about her abuse.
Despite ongoing nightmares and emotional struggles, Lisa remains resolute in her determination to rebuild her life.
She expressed her hope to establish a charity to help other victims and to raise awareness about abuse.
Her message is clear: no child, teenager, or adult should endure such suffering, and her story aims to serve as a warning and a source of strength for others facing similar circumstances.
