IAN CHURCHILL FROM WELLS BUSTS COURT ORDER IN SHOCKING INCIDENT
In a troubling development in Wells, Ian Michael Churchill, aged 51, faced the Somerset Magistrates’ Court in Yeovil on charges that have raised serious concerns about compliance with court-imposed restrictions.Churchill, who was visibly supported by two crutches during the hearing, was accused of deliberately breaching a court order by making contact with a young girl, an act that is strictly prohibited under the terms of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

It was alleged that Churchill communicated with a person under the age of 16 without the knowledge or prior consent of social services, thereby violating the conditions set forth in his SHPO.
This order was specifically designed to prevent him from having any form of contact with minors, a restriction that he was accused of flouting.
Prosecutor Emma Lenanton provided context for Churchill’s legal situation, explaining that he was placed under the SHPO in September 2017 for a period of five years.
The order explicitly forbade him from engaging with anyone under 16, reflecting the serious nature of his previous convictions.
Churchill’s history includes a conviction for sexual offences involving a minor, which led to a crown court suspended sentence order.
