2008: DUDLEY TV AERIAL FITTER JAILED FOR SEX ATTACKS 20 YEARS AGO
A 51-year-old man from Dudley, who worked as a TV aerial fitter, has been sentenced to prison following a series of sexual assaults committed nearly two decades ago against two young girls.
During the proceedings at Wolverhampton Crown Court, it was revealed that Ian Baxter of The Broadway had recorded himself engaging in sexual activities with his victims.
Judge Michael Challinor stated: “I have had the unenviable task of viewing these recordings of you abusing these two young girls.
Your decision to film these acts clearly indicates that these crimes were planned and deliberate.” Baxter pleaded guilty to six counts of indecent assault on the girls, as well as six counts of producing indecent images.
He received a five-year custodial sentence and was mandated to register as a sex offender for life.
Additionally, he is prohibited from working with children and from accessing the internet.
Prosecutor Mark Rees explained that Baxter took the videos for his own sexual satisfaction, and the offences were uncovered when the recordings were found.
In his defense, lawyer Darron Whitehead described Baxter as a man with an otherwise clean record who expressed remorse for his conduct.
