Ian Baldock

St Leonards Sexual Abuser

November 2004 Convicted paedophile jailed again A convicted paedophile from East Sussex who admitted downloading more than 93,000 indecent images of children has been jailed for just over four years. Ian Baldock, 36, was sentenced after admitting 46 counts of downloading and distributing indecent images. Hove Crown Court heard how Baldock, of Cliftonville Road, St Leonards, was jailed in 2001 for being part of global child porn ring the Wonderland Club. He was released on licence in May 2002 but arrested again in August 2004. Baldock was tracked down when his nickname “Danny 13” was found on another paedophile’s computer. The court heard how Baldock had done some freelance computer work at the Hastings-based solicitors firm which had represented him in the Wonderland Club case. While at the firm he downloaded thousands of indecent images which were discovered when a search warrant was executed at the company. Baldock was one of seven members of the Wonderland Club which traded indecent images across the world via the internet. During the police investigation, he was said to have been the crucial link between paedophile rings in the US and Britain. Det Ch Supt Mike Deats said: “We were surprised to see Baldock re-emerge. “We were surprised and disappointed to see him. He had undergone some therapy in prison while he was there, but obviously he came straight out and re-offended.” Baldock has been banned from accessing the internet again, is not allowed to text and ordered to sign the sex offender’s register for life.
