Iain Nicholson SENTENCED IN INVERNESS FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES INVOLVING MINORS

On April 20, 2021, Police Scotland announced that 52-year-old Iain Nicholson was sentenced at Inverness Justice Centre for committing sexual offences against minors. Nicholson admitted to paying for the sexual services of a child, which led to an 11-month jail term. Detective Inspector Anna Johnston from the National Child Abuse Investigation Unit described Nicholson as a 'devious individual who actively pursued and preyed upon vulnerable females, including a 13-year-old girl.' She highlighted the profound effect Nicholson’s behaviour had on the victim, stating, 'The impact of Nicholson’s deviant behaviour on this young girl is significant and cannot be underestimated.' Inspector Johnston also expressed her appreciation for the victim’s bravery and thanked her family for their cooperation throughout the investigation. She concluded by urging anyone with concerns about child safety to contact Police Scotland at 101.
