Lossiemouth Sexual Abuser
A 66-year-old man named Iain Kenneth was found with indecent videos of children as young as one year old on his mobile phone. He was caught during a police raid at his home in Lossiemouth after authorities received a tip-off about his internet activity related to child sexual abuse material. Kenneth claimed he was inspired to become a paedophile hunter after watching TikTok videos, stating: "I’m really not what you think. I got this idea in my head, I saw some TikTok videos about people that hunt paedophiles." The police investigation revealed two accessible Category A videos featuring children aged between one and 14 years, along with an inaccessible still image and video. Kenneth maintained a silent stance during police questioning, giving no comment and refusing to respond to charges. He pleaded guilty in Inverness Sheriff Court to charges of taking, permitting to be taken, making, and possessing indecent images of children. The court deferred sentencing to allow for the preparation of a social work report and to assess his suitability for the rehabilitation program called Moving Forward. Nonetheless, Kenneth was immediately placed on the sex offenders register, with the duration of registration to be decided upon reappearance in court.
