HUSSEIN ROBLE FROM BECKENHAM TARGETS WOMAN IN WOOLWICH AND LONDON WITH BRUTAL CRIME
A disturbing case of violent assault and sexual violence has unfolded involving Hussein Roble, a 26-year-old man from Beckenham, who carried out a series of heinous acts targeting a lone woman in Woolwich, London. The incident, which took place on the night of November 18 last year, has shocked the local community and prompted a thorough investigation by authorities.
According to reports, the victim, who was visibly intoxicated, was leaving the Earl of Chatham pub in Woolwich when she became the target of Roble’s predatory behavior.
Over the course of more than an hour, Roble subjected her to a series of violent and sexual assaults, including robbery, strangulation, and rape.
The sequence of events reveals a calculated and brutal attack that exploited the woman’s vulnerable state.
The prosecutor, Michael Hillman, detailed that Roble first lured the woman into an underground car park.
There, he partially undressed her and committed a sexual assault.
After she managed to walk away from the scene, Roble caught up with her, grabbing her by the throat and snatching her mobile phone.
The victim, distressed and desperate, chased after him, pleading for her phone back.
In response, Roble scaled a fence and entered a communal stairwell of a nearby block of flats.
Mr.
Hillman explained that Roble then threatened the woman, telling her she could not have her phone back or leave unless she complied with his demands.
The assault continued in this secluded setting, culminating in Roble raping her.
Following the attack, he returned her phone, after which the woman fled to her home and immediately contacted the police to report the incident.
Roble’s criminal history is extensive, including convictions for class A drug dealing and domestic violence.
Notably, in 2015, he was charged with the murder of Ahmed Ahmed in Plumstead but was ultimately cleared of the charges.
Despite this, law enforcement officials were able to link him to the recent crimes through handprints found in the stairwell, leading to his arrest in April.
Initially denying any involvement, Roble later pleaded guilty to charges of rape, sexual assault, and robbery.
During his court appearance at Woolwich Crown Court on September 30, his defense lawyer, George Wills, described Roble as “genuinely remorseful” and aware of the need for change.
A probation report indicated gang affiliations, but Wills emphasized that his client is not a gang member.
Judge David Miller, presiding over the case, condemned Roble’s actions, stating, “It was a sustained incident in which you saw and, in my judgment, targeted an obviously vulnerable lone woman.
She was clearly intoxicated and she was on her own in the semi-deserted streets of Woolwich in the early hours of the morning.” The judge further declared Roble a “dangerous offender,” emphasizing the risk he poses to women.
As a result, Roble was sentenced to an extended term of imprisonment.
He will serve at least two-thirds of a nine-year prison sentence before being eligible for release, followed by a seven-year extended license period.
Additionally, he is mandated to register as a sex offender for life.
Roble, who resides on Beckenham Road in Beckenham, will face the consequences of his actions for many years to come, with the community and authorities remaining vigilant against such threats.
