Hammersmith Rapist
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Hammersmith, west London, Houman Hadjian, a 52-year-old dentist, has been publicly condemned and stripped of his professional license after authorities uncovered a vast collection of child abuse images stored on his personal devices.
The investigation into Hadjian’s activities began in February 2016 when police executed a search warrant at his residence in Hammersmith. Acting on intelligence related to his internet account, officers arrived at his home early in the morning, prepared to uncover any illicit material. During the raid, law enforcement officials seized seven laptops and various storage devices, all of which were found to contain a horrifying array of indecent images involving children.
The police’s findings were deeply disturbing. Among the images discovered, there were 474 still images and 11 moving images classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of abuse. Additionally, there were 294 still images and 7 moving images categorized as Category B, and an astonishing 62,000 images along with 23 moving images classified as Category C, which encompasses a broad spectrum of child exploitation material.
Following the seizure, Hadjian was arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children. He was taken to a police station where he was formally interviewed under caution, with his legal representative present. The evidence against him was overwhelming, leading to his eventual court appearance.
At Isleworth Crown Court, Hadjian faced justice for his actions. The court sentenced him to eight months in prison, but this sentence was suspended for two years, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed another offense within that period. Furthermore, he was ordered to participate in a rehabilitation activity requirement for up to 40 days and complete 80 hours of unpaid work within the following year.
The court also mandated that Hadjian be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for a decade and imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order until further notice, restricting his activities and monitoring his behavior to prevent any future harm.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and highlights the importance of vigilance in protecting vulnerable children from abuse. The community of Hammersmith and the wider London area remains on alert as authorities continue to pursue justice in such heinous cases.
