LONDON MAN HITS THE SPOTLIGHT: HITESH SOOD CAUGHT IN CHILD GROOMING SCAM BY PAEDOPHILE HUNTERS
In June 2019, a man from London, Hitesh Sood, found himself in serious legal trouble after being caught in a sting operation conducted by a dedicated paedophile hunting team. The incident unfolded when Sood appeared before the court to face multiple charges related to online child grooming offences, highlighting the ongoing dangers posed by internet predators.
According to court records, Sood had engaged in communication with an online profile he believed belonged to a 13-year-old girl.
The messages he sent were highly sexualized, including explicit images, clearly indicating an attempt to groom the minor for sexual activity.
However, the individual Sood believed to be a young girl was actually an adult member of a paedophile hunting group known as ‘Protection for the Innocent’.
This group employs online decoys, posing as children, to catch predators attempting to exploit minors.
The operation that led to Sood’s arrest took place in December 2018.
The paedophile hunting teams ‘Scorpion Hubters’ and ‘Team Impact’ confronted Sood on behalf of the decoy, ‘Ava Young’.
During the encounter, team members questioned him about his online activities.
Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, one of the team members promptly contacted the police, leading to Sood’s arrest at the scene.
In court, the judge decided to impose a suspended prison sentence on Sood.
Additionally, he was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid community service.
A sexual harm prevention order was also put in place, restricting Sood’s online activities and interactions until further notice.
Furthermore, he was informed that he would remain on the sex offenders register indefinitely, reflecting the gravity of his offences and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
