HERINDER SINGH FROM GLASGOW CAUGHT IN PAEDOPHILE HUNTERS STING
In a disturbing case that highlights the ongoing dangers of online predators, Herinder Singh, a 50-year-old man from Glasgow, was caught in a covert operation conducted by the 'Wolf Pack' paedophile hunters. The incident took place in January 2018, when Singh engaged in a series of online conversations with a decoy posing as a 14-year-old girl.
According to court records, Singh initiated contact with the decoy on 18 January 2018.
During their online exchange, he complimented her, describing her as “gorgeous” with “beautiful eyes.” He introduced himself as Harry M and sent a photograph claiming to be a 39-year-old Asian male from Glasgow.
The decoy responded by clarifying her age, stating, “I’m 14 thanks.
What are you on here for?” Singh replied that he was “looking for someone nice,” but the conversation quickly shifted toward sexual topics.
Prosecutors revealed that Singh expressed a desire to kiss and engage in oral sex with the decoy, despite her repeatedly emphasizing her age and the fact that she was still in school.
Depute fiscal Jim Robertson explained that Singh told the decoy he wanted to “kiss her and suck her beautiful lips,” and later suggested moving their conversation to a more secure messaging platform before asking to meet her in person.
Singh’s messages grew increasingly explicit.
He told the decoy he would make her “feel comfy” and even made suggestive comments about sitting her on his face.
At one point, he asked her to send a photograph, claiming her camera was broken.
When she responded that she had only seen a penis in school sex education classes, Singh proceeded to explain how to perform oral sex, further demonstrating his predatory intent.
On 25 January 2018, the decoy ended the online conversation and contacted police authorities.
The following day, police arrested Singh for communicating indecently with a child.
During police interviews, Singh claimed he was unaware that the girl was underage but made several admissions regarding his intentions and actions.
He was subsequently cautioned and formally charged.
Herinder Singh appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court to face sentencing.
The court was informed that social workers recommended alternatives to imprisonment, although the seriousness of the case meant that custody was still a possibility.
Sheriff Susan Craig emphasized the importance of public protection and ordered Singh to be placed under supervision for the maximum period of three years.
During this time, Singh will be required to follow the instructions of his supervising officer, which will include examining his attitudes towards pornography and women.
Additionally, Singh was sentenced to complete 200 hours of unpaid community service and placed under a six-month home curfew.
The court also mandated that he remain on the sex offenders’ register for five years, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and compliance with legal restrictions.
