MEN JAILED FOR GANG RAPE AFTER DRUGGING AND ASSAULT IN CAERPHILLY
Two men, Kuchar Rahim and Hemin Salimpirik, were convicted for their roles in a gang rape that took place at Salimpirik's residence in Abertridwr, Caerphilly, south Wales. The court heard that the woman was lured to the home, initially believing she would have consensual sex, but upon arrival, she found four unfamiliar men present.
Salimpirik had invited her and allegedly orchestrated the attack, telling her ‘come to daddy’ before the other men assaulted her.
She was given a drug that incapacitated her, leaving her semi-unconscious on a kitchen floor, and was unable to consent to the assault.
Despite her pleas for the attack to stop, the men continued, treating her ‘like a dog,’ according to the judge.
The woman reported the incident to the police and, as a result, both Rahim and Salimpirik were arrested and found guilty after a jury trial at Newport Crown Court.
Rahim was sentenced to 15 years in prison, and Salimpirik received 17 years.
Both men are also required to sign the sex offenders’ register for life.
The court noted Salimpirik was the primary instigator, and the victim suffered trauma including nightmares and felt unsafe in her home, which she had to leave.
Detective Inspector Michelle Chaplin praised her bravery for coming forward, emphasizing her role in ensuring justice was served.
