NORTHUMBERLAND PERVERT WITH 6,000 SICK IMAGES BACK IN COURT AFTER BREACH
A pervert who avoided jail after being caught with 6,000 sexual images and videos of children across 48 electronic devices has found himself back in the dock less than six months later. For almost two decades, Hedley Watson amassed his vile stash, which involved kids as young as five, at his homes in Northumberland and Cumbria.
A court previously heard that the 59-year-old's shocking collection included more than 2,000 category A videos and pictures, which are the most serious kind and involve penetrative sexual activity.
Chroniclelive reported earlier this year how Watson, of Essex Close, in Ashington, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children and one of possessing a prohibited image of a child.
In June, Watson was given a suspended prison sentence and was made subject of a sexual harm prevention order, which comes with a number of requirements.
One of those is that Watson must inform police of an internet-enabled devices he has access to.
However, within three months of being put on the order, Watson breached it, South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court was told.
Glenda Beck, prosecuting, said: "Police conducted a manual search of the defendant's mobile phone and discovered there had been regular use on myQNApcloud.
It hadn't been registered with the police, so the defendant was in breach of his court order.
In interview, he admitted he had been using storage without the police being aware." Watson pleaded guilty to breaching a sexual harm prevention order when he appeared in the dock this week.
Because the judge who previously gave Watson his suspended sentence reserved any breaches to her, he was committed to Newcastle Crown Court for sentence.
He was released on unconditional bail to next appear there on December 12.
