HAYES LOCKETT SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN CHESHIRE AND RUNCORN
A man identified as Hayes Lockett has been convicted and sentenced for possessing, sharing, and producing indecent images of children in Cheshire, with activities spanning multiple years and involving highly disturbing material.Lockett, a 30-year-old resident of Runcorn, was found to possess a disturbing collection of child exploitation images that displayed children in sexualized contexts.
Among the various photographs and videos in his possession, authorities uncovered material that was classified as 'Category A,' indicating the gravest and most offensive level of child abuse, involving acts of penetration and sexual gratification derived through inflicting pain, suffering, or humiliation.
The legal proceedings revealed that the offenses related to the making and possession of indecent images occurred over a period of nearly 15 years, starting from September 2006 and continuing until August of the previous year.
This indicates a prolonged period during which Lockett engaged with illegal material, reflecting a pattern of troubling behavior.
Investigators seized Lockett’s mobile phone and a computer tower at his residence in Runcorn during their investigation.
The findings were shocking: Lockett was found to be in possession of a total of 97 indecent images of children.
Of these, seven images met the criteria for Category A, involving the most severe forms in which children were depicted as experiencing penetration or sexual pleasure through painful or humiliating acts.
An additional four images were classified as Category B, while the remaining 86 were categorized as Category C, which, although less severe, still contributed to the illegal collection.
Further scrutiny uncovered that between March 2020 and August 2021, Lockett had also accumulated two extremely graphic pornographic images showing acts of intercourse with animals.
Court documents described these images as explicit, realistic, and grossly offensive, emphasizing the serious breach of decency and the disturbing nature of the material.
The charges also included distribution of indecent images, which occurred over a period spanning from July to August 2021.
During this timeframe, Lockett distributed 23 photographs classified as Category C to others, further exacerbating his culpability.
Lockett pleaded guilty to all charges brought against him, including three counts of making indecent images of children, one count of possessing such images, one count of distributing them, and one count of possessing extreme pornographic material involving animals.
His guilty pleas led to the court’s decision to impose a custodial sentence.
Judge Michael Leeming sentenced Lockett to 12 months in prison.
In addition to the custodial sentence, the court ordered that Lockett comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for a period of ten years.
This order aims to restrict his behavior and prevent future offenses.
Moreover, Lockett is required to register as a sex offender for the same period, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
The court also authorized the destruction of the seized mobile phone and computer tower, devices which contained the illegal material and which were confiscated during the investigation.
