HASHIM HUSSAIN AND SHOCKING SEX OFFENCES IN MANCHESTER AND BURY
Hashim Hussain, a 24-year-old man from Bury, has been sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of a series of heinous and disturbing sexual offences involving vulnerable teenage girls in the Manchester and Bury areas. The court heard that Hussain targeted young girls, some as young as 16 and 17, in a pattern of predatory behavior that spanned from August 2016 to August 2017.
His actions included not only sexual abuse but also the filming of these acts, which added a further layer of depravity to his crimes.
Hussain’s criminal activities often involved meeting with groups of teenage girls in Openshaw Park, located in Bury.
Witnesses and court testimonies revealed that he would frequently buy vodka for the girls, facilitating their intoxication and making them more vulnerable to exploitation.
After these meetings, Hussain would often take the girls to the home of one of the girls involved, where the abuse would continue.
The investigation into Hussain’s activities intensified after police seized his phone following his arrest in October 2017.
His arrest was initially related to driving offences, but during the subsequent search of his device, authorities uncovered disturbing evidence.
Among the material found was a video depicting a young, intoxicated female being sexually approached by a man, with the scene taking place in a park.
The footage showed the girl asking whether she was being recorded, to which Hussain or another individual responded, “it's just a torch,” misleading her about the recording.
Further evidence included a video showing a young girl clutching a kitchen counter with both hands while an older male engaged in sexual activity with her from behind.
Multiple males could be seen gathered around the scene, indicating a group setting and a disturbing level of collective participation or observation.
Hussain was identified as the person behind the camera due to a distinctive watch visible in the footage, which police later used to confirm his identity.
His arrest took place at Manchester Airport in July 2019, as he disembarked from a flight arriving from Pakistan.
During police questioning, Hussain refused to comment on the allegations, replying only with “no comment” to all questions.
In addition to the sexual offences, Hussain was convicted of two counts of taking indecent images of a child and two counts of possessing such images.
These convictions followed a four-week trial during which the court heard detailed evidence of his involvement in these crimes.
The judge overseeing the case stated, “You were playing your part in this abuse by filming.” The severity of Hussain’s actions and the impact on his victims have been acknowledged through his sentencing, which aims to serve as a stark reminder of the importance of protecting vulnerable young people from exploitation and abuse in the Manchester and Bury communities.
