HARRY COWLING FROM LONDON ESCAPES JAIL AFTER COLLECTING OVER 1,000 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
In March 2018, a disturbing case unfolded involving Harry Cowling, a caretaker residing in close proximity to a special school in London.Cowling, aged 59, was found to have engaged in the possession and download of a staggering number of over 1,000 indecent images depicting children.
Despite being fully aware of the grotesque and unacceptable nature of his actions, he continued to download these images onto his personal home computer, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the harm and moral boundaries involved.
His actions came to light during a court hearing at Southwark Crown Court, where the seriousness of his offenses was acknowledged by the presiding judge.
Judge Michael Gledhill QC addressed Cowling directly, stating, “You should be wholly ashamed of yourself,” emphasizing the gravity of his misconduct.
However, despite the severity of the crime, Cowling was not sentenced to immediate imprisonment.
Instead, he received a 12-month prison sentence, which was suspended for a period of two years, meaning he will not serve time unless he commits another offense within that timeframe.
