DOUBLE RAPIST JAILED FOR 20 YEARS
A man from Folkestone who assaulted two women through rape and subjected both to a series of physical and sexual abuses has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.Harry Arnold, aged 38 and formerly residing on The Street in Newington, was found guilty of numerous sexual offences.
In February 2020, Kent Police received a report after one of the victims came forward with information about Arnold's past misconduct.
Following this, police quickly launched an investigation, leading to Arnold’s arrest within two days.
Subsequently, a second woman disclosed that she had also been repeatedly physically and sexually abused by Arnold.
The two victims, who did not know each other, suffered humiliation and degradation as Arnold engaged in extreme sexual fantasies without their consent.
Specialist detectives conducted a comprehensive investigation that involved collecting and analyzing complex evidence, including extensive digital forensic material.
Fifteen electronic devices were examined, alongside medical records and numerous witness interviews, which culminated in a case file sent to the Crown Prosecution Service in February 2023.
Charges were brought against Arnold, who pleaded not guilty.
He was convicted at Canterbury Crown Court in February 2025 of controlling and coercive behavior.
However, the jury could not reach a unanimous decision regarding the rape charges, resulting in a second trial held in March 2026.
At this subsequent trial, Arnold was found guilty of an additional eight offences, including multiple counts of rape involving both victims.
On May 13, 2026, he received a 20-year prison sentence.
Upon parole eligibility, he will serve a further three years on licence and must remain on the sex offender register for life.
Arnold was also issued a restraining order and is prohibited from working with children and vulnerable adults indefinitely.
