LONDON HUSBAND JAILED FOR ORCHESTRATING BRUTAL WIFE MURDER
Harpreet Aulakh, the spouse of Geeta Aulakh, was the mastermind behind her murder.
He enlisted accomplices, such as Sher Singh, to execute the violent assault on Geeta in Greenford, west London.
During the attack, Sher Singh used a machete that caused deadly wounds, including the complete amputation of her right hand as she attempted to defend herself.
Authorities discovered that Harpreet orchestrated the killing due to his inability to accept their separation and his obsession with the belief that Geeta was involved with another man.
While the case was characterized as an 'honour killing,' some sources, including Sunrise Radio's Avtar Lit, dismissed this label as 'nonsense,' suggesting the crime was driven by foolishness.
Harpreet, known for his narcissistic and potentially criminal behavior, including minor scams and illegal dealings, was found guilty and received a life sentence with a minimum term of 28 years.
The underlying motive stemmed from his shame and humiliation over the divorce process.
He was convicted at the Old Bailey and remains in prison with a long-term, possibly lifelong, imprisonment.
