COMEDIAN KOHLI CHARGED WITH SEX OFFENCES IN GLASGOW
2026-07-01 11:17: The Scottish comedian and broadcaster Hardeep Singh Kohli is scheduled to face trial on charges of multiple rapes and sexual offenses involving five women.At a hearing held at the High Court in Glasgow, the 57-year-old man denied a total of 20 criminal charges.
The alleged incidents occurred over a period stretching from January 2006 to June 2021.
Among these, there are five separate accusations of rape involving the same woman, with the earliest incident reported to have taken place between June 15 and July 31, 2020, at a residence near Glasgow.
He is accused of committing multiple rapes at that residence and in the East End of Glasgow from June 2020 until February 1, 2021—including two incidents in December 2020.
Additionally, there is an allegation of a rape in June 2021 when the woman was intoxicated and unable to give consent.
Kohli also faces four charges of sexual assault against the same woman, including incidents where he allegedly forced her to wear a blindfold and spat on her.
The accusations also involve abusive behavior over a two-year period, such as asking for intimate images, following her movements, and pressuring her for money.
Further charges relate to indecent assault on a different woman at BBC Scotland studios and the Radisson Hotel between 2006 and 2008, with additional allegations of sexual acts performed in front of a woman at a hotel in 2008.
Multiple accusations of assault are also linked to incidents at the University of Edinburgh in 2011 and 2016.
Kohli was excused from attending the hearing, and a trial has been scheduled for October 1, 2027, expected to last around eight days.
He is currently on bail.

Kohli, aged 56, who has been a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother, denies the charges.
The allegations include that he indecently assaulted a woman at BBC studios in Glasgow between April 2007 and September 2008 by squeezing her bottom and attempting to hug her, as well as breaching the peace in her presence in a Glasgow bar and restaurant.
He is also accused of touching her on the back and hair at the Radisson Hotel in Glasgow during the same period.
Furthermore, he faces charges related to an indecent assault on a second woman at the Cross Keys Hotel in Canonbie, Dumfries and Galloway, in June 2008, involving seizing her arm, lunging, and attempting to kiss her, along with breaching the peace and sex act in her presence.
In December 2016, Kohli is alleged to have sexually assaulted a third woman at the Yes Bar in Glasgow by seizing her and attempting to put his tongue in her mouth.
Kohli has filed a defense claiming the assault at the Cross Keys Hotel was consensual.
The court has made orders for vulnerable witnesses for all three women.
Seven civilians and one police officer are expected to testify for the prosecution.
A trial is scheduled for November 24 at Glasgow Sheriff Court, anticipated to last five days.
Kohli appeared in court wearing a purple turban and a black-and-grey Adidas tracksuit and was released on bail.
