GREIG FRAME FROM FIFE BANNED FROM INTERNET AFTER CHILD ABUSE IMAGE SCANDAL IN KIRKCALDY
In a recent court hearing held at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, Greig Frame, a 29-year-old resident of Oakley in Fife, faced serious allegations related to the possession of a significant number of illegal images. The court was informed that Frame had downloaded over 700 child abuse images onto his mobile device, a disturbing discovery that has shocked the local community and prompted legal action.
The court proceedings revealed that the obscene material was created and stored on Frame’s phone between September 2020 and March 2021.
This period marked the timeframe during which the illicit images were produced and kept on his device, raising concerns about ongoing abuse and the potential distribution of such material.
During the hearing, solicitor Ian Beatson addressed the court, explaining that Frame’s actions were influenced by personal struggles.
He stated that the defendant was having difficulty coping with the recent death of his grandmother, which had led him to turn to alcohol as a means of solace.
This context was presented in an effort to provide some understanding of the circumstances surrounding the offense.
As part of the court’s ruling, Frame was sentenced to carry out 160 hours of unpaid community work.
Additionally, a significant restriction was imposed on his future internet use.
He was banned from accessing the internet without explicit permission for a period of three years, a measure intended to prevent any further involvement with illegal material and to monitor his online activity closely.
The case underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement and judicial authorities in Fife to combat the distribution and possession of child abuse images, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding vulnerable children and punishing those who exploit them.
The community remains vigilant and hopeful that such legal actions will serve as a deterrent to others contemplating similar offenses.
